Drug-trafficking network dismantled in south-east with 28 arrests and €720,000 seized

The Guardia Civil dismantled a criminal organisation engaged in drug trafficking in the south-east zone of Spain. The operation, carried out in collaboration with Europol, culminated in the arrest of 28 people and the seizure of more than €720,000 in cash.

Officers carried out several house searches in which they found significant quantities of money, narcotic substances and material related to drug distribution. The network operated in several provinces of the south-east peninsula.

The investigation began several months ago following the detection of suspicious movements by people linked to drug trafficking in the area. Officers from the Benemérita established a surveillance operation that allowed them to identify the main leaders of the organisation.

Those arrested were brought before the courts, while the authorities continue their investigation to determine the total extent of the network and whether there are connections with other criminal structures abroad.
