Man arrested in Elche for stealing building piece collection worth €18,000
Officers of the National Police in Elche have arrested an individual as the suspected perpetrator of the theft of an extensive collection of building pieces from a well-known Danish brand. The value of the stolen items amounts to €18,000.
According to reports from Cadena SER, the investigation began on 3 June, when a person reported the disappearance of their collection of assembled figurines from their private residence.
Investigators determined that the suspected thief had gained access to the property by forcing one of the windows. During the break-in, he took numerous boxes containing complete sets from the collection, some of them limited editions that are difficult to find on the market.
Thanks to analysis of the evidence gathered at the scene, officers were able to identify the suspect, a 44-year-old man with multiple previous convictions for crimes against property. During a search carried out at his residence, officers recovered much of the stolen material, which was returned to its rightful owner.
The detainee was brought before a judge and the judge ordered his release on bail pending the holding of the corresponding trial.
