The National Police have arrested a man in connection with the deaths of two people in a residence on Vázquez de Mella Street, in the Vallobín neighbourhood, Oviedo, according to El Mundo. The deceased are the sister and brother-in-law of the arrested man, confirmed on Tuesday by the government delegate in Asturias, Adriana Lastra.
The discovery of the two bodies took place in recent hours in the Asturian capital. Sources from the Superior Police Headquarters of Asturias clarified that the investigation is still in its initial phase and that officers continue to gather evidence at the scene.
Lastra stated to journalists that the Scientific Police and Judicial Police have secured the scene of the double homicide for the development of the investigation. The bodies were transferred to the Institute of Forensic Medicine of Asturias for the corresponding autopsies.
As this is a judicialised investigation, officers from the Scientific Police and Judicial Police travelled to the residence, added sources from the Superior Headquarters. The On-Duty Court of Oviedo must be informed of the inquiry and decide on the procedural situation of the detainee.
