Man arrested for firing shotgun after fight in Valencia bar

National Police detained an individual who fired a shotgun during an argument inside a bar in Valencia. The incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday, when a discussion between several patrons of the establishment escalated to the point where the suspect resorted to armed intervention.

According to police sources, the detainee was consuming alcoholic drinks in the bar when he initiated a discussion with other people present. The verbal confrontation deteriorated to such an extent that the man left the premises, returned shortly afterwards armed with a shotgun and fired several shots inside the establishment.

National Police officers attended the scene after receiving notification of the incident and proceeded to detain the individual, who did not resist. An inspection of the bar confirmed the impact marks of the projectiles, although no injuries were recorded among those present.

The arrested man, a Spanish national, was taken to police headquarters and brought before a judge. The duty court ordered his admission to custody pending trial without bail, accused of the offence of unlawful possession of firearms and attempted assault.

The investigation remains open to determine whether there are other parties involved in the incident and to clarify the exact circumstances in which the detainee obtained access to the firearm.
