Four police officers arrested in Linares in anti-drugs operation
The Guardia Civil arrested four officers from the Linares Local Police and 16 other people in an operation against drug trafficking in the Sierra Morena region in Jaén province. The arrests came following an investigation that dismantled a network dedicated to distributing drugs in the area.
The four local police officers arrested are accused of alleged offences related to drug trafficking. The operation, carried out by the Guardia Civil, has dealt a serious blow to public safety in the town, with the alleged involvement of officers from the municipal force in criminal activities discovered.
In addition to the local officers, another 16 individuals were arrested for their alleged participation in the drug distribution network. The investigation has enabled the dismantling of the criminal structure that operated in the Sierra Morena region.
Those arrested have been placed at the disposal of the courts and the duty judge in Jaén has decided on appropriate precautionary measures. The operation remains open and further arrests have not been ruled out.
