Arrest at Ronda das Fontiñas

Two National Police officers who were off duty detained a man with a judicial arrest warrant on Thursday afternoon in Lugo. According to ABC, citing Europa Press, the operation took place at Ronda das Fontiñas, near a school in the area.

One of the police officers recognised the suspect when he was having something at the terrace of a hospitality venue accompanied by another young man. The officer, who was aware of the active judicial order against him, immediately began the arrest. At that moment, a second officer of the force who happened to be passing through the area also identified the fugitive and joined in the intervention. The arrest was made without incident.

A patrol unit transported the detainee to the custody cells of the provincial police station on Rúa Chantada, where he spent the night before being brought before a judge. During the search, officers found a small quantity of narcotics, which resulted in an administrative report for drug possession.

The arrested man is a Lugo resident around 40 years old with numerous police records for violent crimes, including assault and other offences against persons, including incidents in the family sphere.
