A police operation in areas of northeastern Attica and Athens resulted in the arrest of 13 people who are suspected of involvement in a vehicle theft ring.

A large-scale operation by prosecuting authorities began in the early hours of Monday (15/6) in areas of northeastern Attica and central Athens. The aim was to dismantle a group suspected of stealing cars over an extended period. To date, 13 people are in custody.
The operation is being coordinated by the Department for the Prosecution of Crimes Against Life and Property (TΔEEE) of Spata–Artemis, reinforced by police officers from the Security Subdivision of Northeastern Attica and OPKE. The investigation had been initiated by the same department, which compiled a case file against the group. Following the necessary procedures, warrants were issued for the arrest of those involved.
According to information released, the operation is still ongoing and further arrests may follow.
