Telephone fraud in the name of DEDDIE — what you need to know

According to reporter.gr, perpetrators are making telephone contact from unknown mobile numbers, presenting themselves as representatives of DEDDIE or other organisations. They cite "high bills", ask for information about electrical appliances — such as air conditioning units — and then attempt to obtain details about valuables or cash. In some cases they also propose meetings for alleged "inspections".

DEDDIE clarifies that it never requests details about money or valuables and does not schedule inspections through calls from unknown numbers.

In the event of such a call, citizens are urged not to share personal information, not to arrange appointments, and not to hand over money, valuables or personal items to anyone.

For clarification, consumers can contact DEDDIE's call centre directly on the number 800 400 4000.
