Deacon in Thessaloniki arrested for domestic violence against his mother-in-law
A 34-year-old clergyman was arrested in the eastern part of Thessaloniki following a complaint from his 65-year-old mother-in-law for bodily harm and threats.

According to reports, a 34-year-old deacon at a church in the eastern part of Thessaloniki province was arrested yesterday morning following a complaint from his 65-year-old mother-in-law regarding a domestic violence incident.
The mother-in-law alleged that her son-in-law assaulted her in order to take car keys belonging to his wife — the complainant's daughter. According to her statement, the accused grabbed her by the right hand and left shoulder and pushed her downwards. The incident occurred in front of his 8-year-old daughter, who burst into tears.
The 34-year-old was referred to trial by flagrante delicto proceedings at the Single-Judge Misdemeanour Court of Thessaloniki for domestic bodily harm and threats, committed in the presence of a minor.
The preliminary investigation into the case was conducted by the Domestic Violence Prevention Office of the Charilaou–Anahlypseos Police Department.
