A 45-year-old police officer lost her life in Drama when her 50-year-old husband attacked her with a knife. The perpetrator was found dead shortly afterwards from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

According to 902.gr, a 45-year-old police officer was murdered on Monday afternoon in Drama by her 50-year-old husband, also a police officer, who subsequently took his own life with his service weapon.
The attack took place inside the couple's home and in front of their 16-year-old child. The 50-year-old reportedly struck his spouse with a knife, causing her multiple injuries. It was the minor child who immediately called the authorities following the attack.
The injured woman was initially taken to Drama Hospital and subsequently to Alexandroupolis University Hospital, where doctors were unable to save her. Shortly afterwards, the perpetrator was found dead near the residence.
Information coming to light reports that the woman had apparently expressed fears about the situation prevailing in her family. According to other sources, she had requested a transfer from her position at least twice.
The case raises questions about the prevention of domestic violence and oversight mechanisms in cases involving members of the Security Forces, as well as gaps in victim protection structures.
