A 25-year-old man of Turkish origin was found dead on Saturday evening in Exarcheia. Prosecuting authorities are investigating scenarios of settling of accounts.

A 25-year-old man of Turkish origin fell dead on Saturday evening on the steps leading to Strefi Hill, at the intersection of Kallidromio and Benaki streets. Police investigating the case are examining scenarios of settling of accounts, possibly related to narcotics.
The victim had arrived in Greece in 2024 and had previously been brought in for questioning twice. Eyewitnesses reported that the perpetrator, a man dressed in black with a dark hat, had lain in wait and, as soon as he saw the unfortunate man descending the steps with his dog, followed him and shot him from behind at least 5 times, with two of the shots to the head.
From the scene of the incident, initial police units collected 5 cartridge cases. Authorities are also gathering audiovisual material to locate the route the killer took during his escape.
