Femicide in Drama: No domestic violence reports, says Greek Police
Greek Police spokesperson Konstantia Dimoglidi denied that there had been any prior reports of domestic violence before the murder of the 45-year-old police officer in Drama.

Greek Police Press Spokesperson Konstantia Dimoglidi categorically denied reports claiming there had been previous reports of domestic violence in the femicide case in Drama, according to Newsbeast.
"Not only were there no reports of domestic violence incidents, there is also no reference whatsoever in the immediate circle of the two people, who were questioned yesterday by police officers," Dimoglidi stated on the programme Apokalypsis. She added that the couple appeared to be affectionate and functional in the professional sphere, whilst clarifying that "only their circle can now provide us with information".
Speaking to ANT1, the spokesperson emphasised that membership of a security force does not exempt anyone from personal and family difficulties. "We must understand that behind the uniform are people who belong to this society," she said, stressing that there are procedures to seek help and that "in no case is a crime justified".
Details of the case
According to reports, the 45-year-old police officer was found half-naked in bed with a knife beside her. Authorities believe that her 50-year-old husband, also a police officer, fatally stabbed her at least eight times in the back and sides during an intense argument.
Their 16-year-old son was the first to find her, discovering his mother dead in the basement where the family's bedrooms are located. The child was in the house during the crime and told police that he did not hear his father entering. Unverified reports suggest he was wearing headphones at the time. The minor was the one who called the Emergency Response Unit, saying "mum is beaten and there is blood".
The couple's 20-year-old daughter studies in Thessaloniki. Both children are now with relatives from their immediate family circle, whilst a psychologist has accompanied them from the outset.
Tensions and separation request
Reports from police sources indicate that in recent times there had been tensions in the couple's relationship. The 50-year-old was reportedly seeing a private psychologist without having informed his service, as he was unable to manage the 45-year-old's request for a separation.
According to sources, the 45-year-old had verbally expressed to the director of her service the desire to be transferred, but without mentioning the problems with her husband — citing exclusively financial reasons.
After the murder, the 50-year-old drove his vehicle to a nearby forest, where he ended his life with his service weapon.
