Police pursuit recovers 61 kilograms of cannabis in Agia Paraskevi – Azerbaijani trafficker arrested
Police officers pursued a car with two occupants in Agia Paraskevi. The vehicle crashed into a kerb and both occupants fled on foot. One was arrested, the second remains at large. A total of 61 kilograms and 250 grams of cannabis was recovered.

A vehicle pursuit by police officers occurred in the early hours of Tuesday in the Agia Paraskevi area. Officers attempted to stop a car with two occupants, but the driver accelerated to evade the inspection.
During the pursuit, the car crashed into a kerb. The two occupants abandoned the vehicle and attempted to flee by running. According to reporting from in.gr, video footage secured by MEGA shows the two men running while a food delivery rider on a motorcycle pursues them. The delivery rider managed to immobilise one of the two.
Three vehicles from a special operations unit subsequently arrived at the scene. Police officers who disembarked from them began running and ultimately handcuffed a 30-year-old Azerbaijani national. The second perpetrator managed to escape and a manhunt has been launched to locate him.
Inside the vehicle, 49 packages were found containing a total of 61 kilograms and 250 grams of cannabis. The narcotics were confiscated and the arrested individual was taken to the authorities.
Investigations are continuing to locate and apprehend the second person involved.
