Beating at Chaidari clinic: He attacked him for asking him to speak more quietly

Attack at clinic over a mobile phone remark

A serious incident of violence occurred at a private clinic in Chaidari when a man was attacked after asking another patient to lower his voice during a telephone conversation, according to In.gr.

The victim, Mr Georgos, was at the clinic accompanying his wife when a man was speaking loudly on two mobile phones simultaneously. "I said to him: please, speak a bit more quietly or go outside to talk on your mobile, because you're disturbing — and within seconds, he beat me up," he stated in an interview with Mega.

Blows and second attack on the stairs

The perpetrator allegedly moved towards the victim and attacked him with punches and kicks. "One blow was very powerful to the forehead. I have a blackened eye and a cracked rib," Mr Georgos described. As he noted, the other patients witnessed the assault in shock.

Police and the ambulance service were called to the scene. However, before officers arrived, the perpetrator had left the premises. The matter did not end there: after police recorded the incident and departed, the man appeared again as the victim was descending the stairs. "He pushed me and my wife and the doctor came forward," said Mr Georgos, adding that the perpetrator told him "I'm waiting for you downstairs."

Report filed and perpetrator identified

The victim was taken to hospital and subsequently sought out a forensic pathologist, who compiled a relevant report. "I have filed a report at Chaidari police station," he stated, explaining that he is still gathering medical documents.

Through the name provided to him by authorities, Mr Georgos recognised the perpetrator as a businessman in the area — an accountant with two shops in Chaidari. "I don't know him at all," he emphasised.

Authorities have identified the perpetrator, who is being sought. According to information, the same man has attacked another person in the past, with that victim having already filed a report.
