Stabbing leaves one dead in Imathia café
An armed attack resulting in the death of a 32-year-old man occurred shortly before 4 pm on Monday at a health-regulated establishment in Koulóura, Imathia. A 62-year-old was also injured in the incident.
According to information released by the police directorate of the region, the Hellenic Police were notified of a serious incident and arrived at the scene with substantial forces. The 47-year-old Greek man, identified as the perpetrator, is alleged to have used a sharp object against both individuals following an intense verbal dispute.
The attack victim, aged 32, succumbed to his injuries. The second injured party, aged 62, was rushed to Véria hospital for treatment. According to reports, both victims belonged to the Roma community and had disputes with the alleged perpetrator regarding property.
The 47-year-old was arrested at the scene under the framework of flagrante delicto proceedings. He was brought before the prosecutor of Véria the following day. The Serious Crime Investigation Department of the region is conducting a preliminary investigation to shed light on the causes and circumstances of the incident.
