Police arrested a 54-year-old woman in the municipality of Thermaikós following complaints about dangerous living conditions for two children aged 4 and 6.

Google News GR — Crime (el) reports that police proceeded with the arrest of a 54-year-old woman in an area of the municipality of Thermaikós, east of Thessaloniki, following complaints about the conditions in which two minor siblings, aged 4 and 6, were living.
The two children — a boy and a girl — had been entrusted to the 54-year-old by their mother, aged 33, who works outside Thessaloniki and had assigned her their care during her absence.
An inspection of the arrested woman's residence, carried out in the presence of a social worker from the municipality of Thermaikós, revealed animal filth and generally unsanitary surroundings. According to police, the conditions were deemed unsuitable for children's residence and posed risks to their health.
The two children are currently under the care of their uncle. A case file was prepared by the Department of Prosecution and Investigation of Crimes in Thermaikós, and the prescribed legal procedure is being followed.
