Police arrested a 54-year-old woman in the Municipality of Thermaikós following complaints about deplorable living conditions for two children, aged 4 and 6. The siblings were handed over to the care of their uncle.
Arrest in Thermaikós for unsuitable living conditions of minors
According to kathimerini.gr, police arrested a 54-year-old woman in an area of the Municipality of Thermaikós, east of Thessaloniki, following complaints about the living conditions of two underage siblings, aged 4 and 6.
The 33-year-old mother of the children, who works outside Thessaloniki, had entrusted their care to the 54-year-old during her absence. An investigation conducted at the arrested woman's home, in the presence of a social worker from the Municipality of Thermaikós, revealed, according to police, conditions unsuitable for children and dangerous to their health.
Inside the house, animal waste and a generally unsanitary environment were found. The boy and girl are now under the care of their uncle.
A case file was prepared by the Department of Crime Investigation and Resolution of Thermaikós and the prescribed legal procedure is being followed.
