A minor employee at a hotel in Heraklion, Crete, has accused the 61-year-old manager of beating, insulting and threatening him.

Police have arrested a 61-year-old man, manager of a hotel in the municipality of Chersonissos, Heraklion, Crete, following a complaint filed against him by a minor employee of the business.
According to statements made by the victim in his testimony, the incident took place on Thursday 9 July. The young employee alleged that his supervisor beat him, insulted him and threatened him. That same evening, the minor went to the Chersonissos police station where he filed the relevant complaint.
The 61-year-old was arrested the following morning. A case file was opened against him for the offences of assault, insulting behaviour and threats.
The incident prompted a response from the president of the Panhellenic Association of Hotel Managers, Yorgos Pelekanakis, who condemned the behaviour of the arrested man. Speaking to APA-MPE, Mr Pelekanakis emphasised that such behaviour is unacceptable and is condemned by the association.
