Arrest of armed criminal gang member in Chalkidiki – 14 offences
A foreign national has been arrested in Thessaloniki as a member of a gang that committed 2 armed robberies and 12 thefts across Chalkidiki, Pella, Larissa and Thessaloniki.

Arrest of foreign national in Thessaloniki for armed robberies and house burglaries across four prefectures
Police officers from the Crime Investigation and Detection Unit of Polygiros arrested a foreign man on 14 June 2026, a member of a criminal gang that was active in Northern Greece. According to ERT, the suspect was found in an area of Thessaloniki travelling in a stolen vehicle, which was immediately returned to its legitimate owner.
The case file also includes two other members of the same gang, whose details have already been identified by the authorities.
The scope of the offences
From the police investigation, it emerged that the three gang members, acting together or in different compositions, committed a series of offences between 27 May and 12 June 2026:
- 2 armed robberies at shops in Chalkidiki and Pella, with a total theft of €5,600 and one mobile telephone.
- 10 house thefts in Chalkidiki — one of which was an attempted theft — with stolen goods totalling €5,000 in cash, jewellery and other items.
- 1 house theft in Larissa, with €26,000 removed.
- 1 house burglary in Thessaloniki, during which car keys were stolen and subsequently the vehicle itself.
Referral to magistrate
The arrested man was brought before the Chief Prosecutor of the Court of First Instance of Chalkidiki, who referred him to the Magistrate. The police investigation continues, with the aim of determining any involvement of the gang in additional similar criminal acts.
