The three-year-old girl from Chania has been extubated and is breathing without mechanical support. The mother and her partner have been arrested.
Three-year-old girl extubated in PAGNE paediatric ICU
The three-year-old girl from Chania who is alleged to have been abused has been extubated and is now breathing without mechanical support, according to antenna.gr.
The awakening procedure began approximately five days after the child was admitted to the paediatric ICU at PAGNE. Her health condition is characterised as stable, however the child continues to be under close medical observation.
The girl is being treated for a brain haematoma and injuries to her body. Mr Chalkiadakis, director of PAGNE, characterised this development as particularly positive.
In the meantime, the child's mother and her partner have been arrested in connection with the case.
