Three brothers admit to killing man in his fifties in Moujat commune, Chichaoua province
Three brothers voluntarily surrendered to the Royal Gendarmerie post in Moujat commune in Chichaoua province following the death of a man in his fifties and the disposal of his body in a remote area, according to local media reports on Thursday.
Hespress reported, citing local sources also relied upon by Kech24 and Marrakech Al Aan, that the incident took place inside the family home, where the three brothers are suspected of attacking the victim before transporting his body to an isolated location within the same commune.
According to the same sources, the alleged motive for the crime relates to suspicions held by the brothers regarding the nature of the relationship between the victim and their widowed mother, as the man had been visiting the house regularly, which raised questions for them. However, the circumstances of this alleged relationship and its role in the crime have not been independently verified so far.
Following the incident, the three brothers went of their own volition to the Royal Gendarmerie post in Moujat, where they admitted to their involvement in the crime. The information they provided also helped investigators locate and recover the body.
The Royal Gendarmerie has opened a judicial investigation into the case under the supervision of the competent public prosecution, with the aim of determining the circumstances of the death and establishing the criminal responsibility of those involved.
