The supreme criminal court in Fort-de-France ruled on 10 June 2026 following a hearing lasting four days. Two defendants were tried for attempting to kill a man in his thirties in 2021 in the municipality of Saint-Pierre, according to France-Antilles Martinique.
The assault dates to 5 September 2021, around 3 p.m. The complainant, then aged 27, sustained seven gunshots. Some bullets penetrated vital organs. Despite this, he escaped death, in part thanks to a mechanical malfunction of the weapon aimed at him.
The jury handed down sentences of 20 years and 18 years imprisonment to the two perpetrators.
