Polish Authorities on High Alert After Threat Against Prime Minister and Defence Chief

Polish police received information about a possible attack targeting Prime Minister Donald Tusk and Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz, jpost.com reports, citing Reuters.

Interior Ministry spokesperson Karolina Galecka announced the development on X/Twitter on Sunday, stating that Interior Minister Marcin Kierwiński and Minister-Coordinator of Special Services Tomasz Siemoniak had ordered immediate action in response to the intelligence.

"A meeting will be held today at 11:00 a.m. at the Internal Security Agency's (ABW) Counter-Terrorism Centre," Galecka wrote.

The threat emerged against a backdrop of heightened security concern in Poland following a wave of violence in schools. A school caretaker died on Thursday in one of the incidents, prompting authorities to raise their alert level across the country.
