Life sentence for execution in Tolered – three accomplices sentenced for aiding and abetting murder
Two twelve-year-olds witnessed the shooting at close range. One of them told interrogators that he saw the victim being struck and falling. The other stated that he was approximately twelve metres behind the target when the shots were fired.
Aftonbladet now reports that 21-year-old Sebastian Raducanu has been sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of a 34-year-old man in Tolered. According to the judgment, he fired eleven shots, eight of which struck the victim in the head.
Three other individuals have been sentenced for aiding and abetting murder and also receive the most severe punishment – life imprisonment.
A carefully planned execution
Judge Camilla Wohlers Tell describes the murder in harsh terms.
– The murder of the man has been carefully planned and has been characterised by particular ruthlessness. The shooting has had the character of a pure execution and has caused severe suffering to the victim, she says.
The victim was traced with the help of a GPS tracker that had been placed under his car. The evidence consisted largely of surveillance footage and mobile phone cell tower data from several phones. Also decisive was the fact that DNA and fingerprints from the shooter were found on a car parked in immediate proximity to the scene of the murder. The murder weapon was found with the shooter's DNA on it.
Connection to conflict in Biskopsgården
The shooting is linked to the ongoing conflict between the southern and northern Biskopsgården – a conflict that has lasted for over a decade. According to police, the 34-year-old man held a leading role in the criminal network in southern Biskopsgården and had at one time faced an acute threat assessment against him. In the summer of 2024, he was injured in an earlier shooting.
The murder is suspected to be a reaction to a double murder that occurred a week earlier in Lunden in Gothenburg, in which two men were shot dead.
Despite the extensive evidence, it was not until November that Raducanu could be arrested, as he was completely unknown to the authorities.
Raducanu denies charges and appeals
Sebastian Raducanu denies the charges. His defence counsel, lawyer Martin Bjurenlind, states that the judgment will be appealed.
– On the basis of the judgment alone, the judgment will be appealed, says Bjurenlind.
