Burglary in Hovorance: thief wakes homeowner, police seek witness
An unknown perpetrator broke into a family home in Hovorance in the Hodonín district and stole jewellery worth several thousand crowns. Police have released CCTV footage of a witness and are asking the public for help.

In the early hours of Wednesday, 21 October, an unknown perpetrator broke into a family home in Hovorance in the Hodonín district. According to Blesk.cz, the sleeping homeowner caught him searching through the rooms — nevertheless, the man managed to escape. He took jewellery valued at several thousand crowns.
"She disturbed him, but he still managed to escape from the house. He took jewellery valued at several thousand crowns," police spokesperson Petr Vala said.
Police officers from the district office in Dubňany secured several CCTV recordings during the investigation of the case. In one of them, a witness appears who was in the immediate vicinity of the crime scene at the time of the burglary.
"His statement could help clarify the burglary of the family home," spokesperson Vala emphasised.
The witness can come forward on the emergency line 158. People who recognise him or have any other information about the case can also call the same number. The unknown perpetrator faces charges of breaking and entering and theft.
