In the evening, a violent incident occurred in the Exarcheia district of the Greek capital that cost a man his life. According to In.gr, which cites reporting from Politis.com.cy, residents of the neighbourhood heard gunshots near the intersection of Kallidromio and Benaki streets and called the police.

Police units arrived at the scene and found the body of a male, approximately 35 years old. Death resulted from gunshot wounds. Initial assessments indicate two to three bullets struck the victim in the head and face. During the on-site investigation, initial forces found five shell casings on the ground.

Witness accounts being gathered by investigative services describe a single perpetrator who disappeared immediately after the crime. The direction of his escape remains unknown. Police have cordoned off the area, whilst preliminary investigation continues to clarify the circumstances and locate the fleeing suspect.

Regarding motives, one of the lines of enquiry being examined links the crime to drug trafficking networks. However, authorities have not ruled out any other scenario at this time.
