Prosecution has been brought for intentional homicide with joint complicity against two of three suspects in the death of 49-year-old Alexandros Daskalakas. The third suspect is being prosecuted for moral complicity.

Prosecution for intentional homicide filed against two accused in Daskalakas murder

The Public Prosecution of Heraklion, Crete has brought criminal charges for intentional homicide with joint complicity against two of the three arrested suspects in the case of the death of 49-year-old Alexandros Daskalakas, president of the Apesokario community.

Specifically, a 32-year-old man and a 59-year-old man are accused of intentional homicide. For the third suspect, the father of the 32-year-old, the case file includes the charge of moral complicity.

Alexandros Daskalakas died on 23 March 2026 following several days of hospitalisation at a hospital in Heraklion. He had suffered a serious head injury on 1 March in an agricultural area of the Gortyna Municipality.

The case is under investigation and the three accused are expected to be brought before the examining magistrate.
