A federal police officer is accused of attacking his wife, also a police officer, with a knife in front of their 10-year-old son. The 40-year-old woman succumbed to her injuries.

A shocking incident unfolded on the afternoon of Monday, 15 June in Drama. A man who served in the Body of Security reportedly fatally wounded his wife, who also worked for the same service, in the presence of their 10-year-old son.
The incident occurred at the couple's home. The boy was the one who called the Emergency Response Centre, saying that his mother had been injured in the basement. The woman, aged 40, was found with serious injuries from a sharp object in three areas of her body: the chest, the back and the face. She was urgently transported to the city's medical facility, where she ultimately died.
A short time later, a resident of the area notified the authorities that they had found the man dead inside his vehicle, on a hill with dense vegetation near Drama. Investigators are examining whether the death resulted from self-inflicted injury with his service weapon.
The couple had recently separated. According to accounts from relatives and friends, they had never shown signs that their relationship had reached such a point. An acquaintance of theirs reported that the man had consulted a mental health specialist, as he wished to remain together until their second child completed his examinations.
According to ELAS, neither of the two had ever been referred to a service psychologist, as some media outlets reported.
The unfortunate woman had posted on 3 June on social media a comment about the murder of a woman in Kalamata, in which she highlighted the different treatment shown towards the LGBTQ+ community and domestic violence incidents.
