The results of the testimonies in the case of the criminal gang allegedly operating within organised supporters of an athletic club in the second city have become known. Of the twenty arrested, one was ordered to remain in custody following a joint decision by an investigating magistrate and a prosecutor. The remaining nineteen left with restrictive conditions, the majority of them with bans on entering stadiums.
The case involves a total of fifty-one implicated persons. The charges concern a number of assaults between fans, drug trafficking inside and outside sports facilities, thefts with fan-related motives and other illegal activities.
In the sights of the prosecution authorities is a 30-year-old who is considered the head of the gang and is abroad. Also included in the case file is a 23-year-old, already in prison for the murder of a 20-year-old last March in the Kalamaria area. The young man will be called to give explanations regarding his participation in the gang's activities.
The man remanded in custody is accused, among other things, of drug offences, possession of weapons and harbouring in connection with the violent incident in Kalamaria.
