A violent incident occurred yesterday evening in the centre of the co-capital, resulting in a 33-year-old Syrian man being hospitalised with injuries.
According to the Hellenic Police, the victim was attacked by a compatriot, 28, during a fierce altercation. The 33-year-old sustained injuries to the shoulder blade and neck, and was immediately transferred to a hospital in the city, where he is being treated and is out of danger.
Police forces proceeded to arrest the perpetrator, with a file being opened against him for dangerous bodily harm and violation of weapons legislation.
