A 51-year-old man from Cenade commune, Alba County, has been placed in preventive arrest for 30 days after allegedly raping a 13-year-old girl, his neighbour, reports G4Media, citing a statement from the Prosecutor's Office attached to Alba County Tribunal, transmitted Thursday through Agerpres.
According to the criminal investigation documents, the act allegedly took place during August 2026. Prosecutors claim that the man allegedly took advantage of the victim's inability to express her will, determined by her age and level of psycho-physical development, as well as the fact that they were alone in the residence. "The accused, aged 51, is a neighbour of the victim and has no criminal record," the prosecutor's statement notes.
The man was detained on Wednesday by police officers. The case was taken over from the Prosecutor's Office attached to Blaj District Court, and the prosecutor from the Prosecutor's Office attached to Alba County Tribunal ordered the initiation of criminal proceedings for the offence of rape of a minor.
At the proposal of the case prosecutor, the judge for rights and liberties at Alba Iulia District Court ordered the preventive arrest of the accused for 30 days.
